[Free Webinar] Why these Dutch companies outsource their IT to Africa

In The Netherlands there is a growing scarcity of IT professionals, limiting opportunities for businesses. With the current COVID-19 crisis, many people are working remotely, making it less of an issue working with a distributed team of IT professionals. In this webinar we learn about the collaboration of several Dutch companies with IT professionals in upcoming IT hubs in Africa. Ardin Vlot | Chief Inspiration Officer at Exalio Nederland BV.

Exalio offers ERP solutions and has been working with Dutch-Ghanaian IT company Trinity Software Center since October 2019. Trinity has provided Exalio with international virtual scrum teams. Ardin Vlot: “We started with one junior developer who came to the Netherlands to get acquainted to our technologies, to his Dutch colleagues and the way we work. That developer is now leading a team of three in Kumasi, Ghana. Because of our good experiences we have hired a second scrum team of 3 in July 2020, in the field of low code. Here too, we are giving them a few months to study the technology, and then join our Dutch teams for customers in the Netherlands.

"We have been working with Trinity Software for more than a year now. Looking back, I am impressed with their recruitment process. Coming from a Vice President-Software Development position at a Large ERP-vendor, I know how hard it is to recruit the right guy. So far they have been spot on, on any of the recruits we got on board. Offshore development this way, pays off providing you take the time and do the investment in a decent and intense introduction period.”

Pieter Stenfert | Coach at Myna

MYNA is a consultancy offering start-ups and scale-ups coaching and tooling to become agile and futureproof using the SWARM-method. It has been working with Dutch IT company Incentro’s Kenya office on software development and maintenance. Pieter Stenfert: “Incentro Africa has built our MYNA.SWARM tool to help our customers swarm and grow. It makes work transparent for all employees and enables them to pick up the activities they are most capable to do. We expected MYNA.SWARM to be easy to use, multilingual and a generic platform to be used by many organizations.”

"We choose to work with Incentro because of their organisational culture and purpose overlap with ours: spread happiness, make great places to work, create self-organising teams. We looked for a team that really understands what our purpose is, not only our requirements. We have been working with the team in Kenya from the start, and they are really focused on what we want to create. As a scrum-team with me as product-owner, we co-created and developed the software together. I really appreciated working virtual close together and getting to know a bit more about what it’s like to live in Nairobi (in corona-lock down).”

Mark de Groot | Managing director at Raising Results

Raising Results is a full-service digital marketing and service agency that develops and implements digital marketing strategies. Mark de Groot: “We create more efficiency out of digital marketing services for non-profits. With this combination we help charities and the art and culture sector to take the next step in digital marketing.
